My Background

F. Lynwood Givens, Ph.D.

I hold three degrees including a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Texas at Austin.  I manage technology, teach technology and science courses, lecture, consult, and direct financial investments in technology. I was appointed by the Governor of Texas to serve on the Texas State Library and Archives Commission and the Board of Regents for Midwestern State University. Prior, I was Chief Technology Officer of Raytheon Company, Intelligence and Information Systems division, Raytheon is the nation’s fifth largest defense contractor. Prior, I was vice president of Space Imaging that launched the world’s first commercial imaging satellite and prior to that, CEO of a medical imaging startup.

My expertise is in directing technology companies and research organizations. I hold six patents, one trade secret disclosure, and have authored more than forty refereed publications. I am a member of the American Physical Society. I served for years on the University of Texas at Dallas Research Advisory Board.

I was instrumental in the acquisition of two companies and served as general manager of one of them, specializing in medical imaging technologies.

I create technology training courses, video scripts, and technology protfolios. Topics range across image processing, satellite operations, semiconductor processing, patent protection, rights in inventions, business plans, and technology analyses.

Throughout my career, I held Top Secret, SCI/TS security clearances. I have widely traveled internationally – the Far East, the Middle East, Europe, Asia, Central America, and in every state – making thousands of technology presentations to heads of government agencies, intelligence organizations, representatives of government, military officers, investment groups, heads of companies, CEOs, presidents, vice presidents, and all levels of management.

I have made seven acoustic guitars and skydived three times.  The dog’s name is Rayleigh, always close at hand and sometimes in the the way.  The pictures are three unique items, the first cast iron bridge in the US, Big Obsidian Flow, and the Spruce Goose.
